| These efficient instruments are designed for time-saving preparation of the non-curved canal portion, creating excellent access for reamers and files. |
The modern Crown-Down technique:
Enlarge the straight coronal portion of the canal with Gates Glidden # 6 > 5 > 4 < 3 (sizes depend on canal situation). Then step down with endodontic files using the biggest size first: The access created with Gates reduces the number of files needed for reaching the apex, thus saving additional time.
