KEY Laser 3

General operation:
In KEY Laser, the laser beam is not directed by a rigid articulated mirror arm system, but is passed via a flexible instrument tube with internal fibre to the treatment site. The fibre instrument tube, slim handpiece dimensions, variable laser parameters and the integrated spray supply, enable the user to handle the KaVo KEY Laser in an ergonomic way.

Feedback system for concrement removal:

The feedback system permits complete concrement removal with absolute protection of the root support tissues and almost 100% destruction of bacteria.

The built-in autopilot provides continuous feedback about the concrement still present, indicated both visually in the display and by an acoustic signal. The LASER is used only as much as necessary and as little as possible.

And here's how the feedback system functions: The 655 nm excitation light is passed into the inflamed pocket by the periodontics handpiece. The pathological substances there send a fluorescent signal to a receiver. This then sends a control signal to the therapy laser and triggers the removal mechanism. When the receiver no longer receives any fluorescence signals, the laser beam is switched off.
